Dr Ruchi Goel completed her graduation from University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi and post- graduation from Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. She has more than 25 years’ surgical experience and has been involved in training the post graduates for the past 20 years. She has been cataract surgery trainer at ORBIS international. Her surgical expertise includes advanced Orbital, lacrimal (including endoscopy) and lid surgeries, orbital, lacrimal and lid malignancies/space occupying lesions; orbital decompression, orbital fracture; polytrauma, Phacoemulsification, Small Incision Cataract Surgery, Scleral fixated IOLs, Trabeculectomy and Glaucoma drainage devices.
She is an examiner of Royal College of Ophthalmologists(London), MD/MS, DNB, PhD,FAICO and MBBS. She has authored the book titled `Manual of Oculoplasty’, Jaypee Publishers, 2019, New Delhi, the first edition of which will be released this year. She was also a co-author of the book `Manual of small incision cataract surgery with focus on difficult situations and complications’, 2011, CBS publishers, New Delhi.She has 110 indexed 40(non- indexed) and >30 book chapters to her credit.
Some of her various academic awards include Dr. V.P Chadha Memorial university Gold Medal, Smt. Rukmani Gopala Krishnan Memorial Gold Medal, APAO-Honavar award(best paper in lacrimal session AIOC 2016), AIOS-IJO silver award, Outstanding paper award-International college of Surgeons.
She has performed live surgery at more than dozen centres and has conducted > 50 instruction courses on Oculoplasty and Cataract in India and abroad.
